It is a natamycin (pimaricin) product and naturally occurs in the bacterium Streptomyces natalensis. Natamycin controls the spoilage of various foods by yeast and moulds. Opposite of conventional ones such as potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, its exceptional function is that bacteria are not affected but yeast and mould.It is easly applied in fermented dairy and meat products.
Maymicin is a blend natamycin and lactose in ratio of 1/1. There is no a bad effect on taste, colour or pH of the product. The product is available in 100 g and 500 g plastic containers.
